Theatre Program

As a task in my computing lesson just before the new year, we were tasked with making a theatre ticket machine system that allowed the user to select different films, their own seat and additionally, select if they wanted to buy a parking ticket (+£15).

With this project I used my prior knowledge of databases to make this feasible.

Task:

Create a theatre ticket system

  • Including:

  • Allowing the customer to buy a theatre ticket and/or parking ticket

  • Allow the customers details to be changed

  • Allow the tickets to be deleted or printed

  • Allow an admin to view all the tickets sold

Final Outcome:

I completed this task using a GUI, and a Database. I used the database to create individual tables for each ticket bought within each of the films and a table for all the tickets bought. With this table I also use it to tell the customer whether the ticket they have selected is available or not by searching the database table to see if that seat is already within a record.

When the customer finishes purchasing their ticket, they can also save it and/or print the ticket. If they chose to save the ticket they can also view the ticket at a later date.

At Admin level, tickets can be edited and deleted

  • Main Menu
  • Purchase a Ticket
  • Seats Available
  • Seat Unavailable

  • Confirm Ticket
  • Print Ticket

  • View Ticket
  • View Ticket
